Την Παρασκευή 10 Σεπτεμβρίου εντοπίστηκε κοντά στο Βροντερό Πρεσπών, και συγκεκριμένα στην περιοχή «Πυξός», νεκρή από πυροβόλο όπλο θηλυκή αρκούδα ηλικίας περίπου έξι ετών. Για το περιστατικό ενημερώθηκε αρχικά ο ΑΡΚΤΟΥΡΟΣ από ευαισθητοποιημένο πολίτη και άμεσα ειδοποιήθηκαν ο Φορέας Διαχείρισης Εθνικού Πάρκου Πρεσπών, η Εταιρία Προστασίας Πρεσπών και η Διεύθυνση Δασών Φλώρινας, οι οποίοι έσπευσαν στην περιοχή μαζί με το Τμήμα Κτηνιατρικής της ΠΕ Φλώρινας, τον Δήμο Πρεσπών και την Περιβαλλοντική Οργάνωση ΚΑΛΛΙΣΤΩ. LIFE ARCPROM

Το έργο LIFE ARCPROM (LIFE18 NAT / GR / 000768) έχει στόχο τη βελτίωση της συνύπαρξης ανθρώπου – αρκούδας σε τέσσερα Εθνικά Πάρκα της N. Eυρώπης, τρία στην Ελλάδα και ένα στην Ιταλία. To έργο ξεκίνησε τον Οκτώβριο του 2019 και θα έχει διάρκεια 5 χρόνων. Εταίροι του έργου είναι τέσσερα Εθνικά Πάρκα (Πρεσπών, Β.Πίνδου, Οροσειράς Ροδόπης και Majella), δύο πανεπιστήμια (της Θεσσαλίας και της Δυτικής Μακεδονίας), και δύο περιβαλλοντικές οργανώσεις (Καλλιστώ και WWF Iταλίας). Το έργο συγχρηματοδοτείται κατά 75% από το πρόγραμμα LIFE της ΕΕ , το Πράσινο Ταμείο και ιδίους πόρους των εταίρων, ενώ το συνολικό του budget είναι 2,786,497 €.
